Guidelines to develop national Forest Bird Indices for the new EU Nature Restoration Regulation

The EBCC, in cooperation with BirdLife Europe and Central Asia, has published a technical report to assist their partners, relevant ministries, and environmental agencies at national and EU levels in implementing the obligations established in the EU Nature Restoration Regulation regarding forest bird indices. This report, available on the EBCC website, has been made possible through the collaboration of researchers and ornithologists who have worked on forest bird indicators for decades, particularly in the context of PECBMS and related national bird monitoring schemes.

We hope it will contribute to the optimal development of Forest Bird Indices under this new EU regulation and reinforce the role of forest bird monitoring across Europe.
